Ever since we became a family I’ve started to appreciate my weekends a lot more. They’re jam packed and I feel like my life has never been so full. Prior to our little man being in the picture, Mr Sly would spend his weekends beavering away on creative projects, whilst I enjoyed solitary time at home. I’m a pretty quiet person by nature–an introvert-extrovert. I can stand in front of 200 people and quite easily give a speech, but I can feel so awkward in small group scenarios. Depending on the situation, I’m more comfortable with one-on-one conversations, especially if I have a purpose…like interviewing someone!
I love that opportunity to extract information from a person (in a candid and conversational way), and I really enjoy being in that moment of exchange. It really is quite special to hear someone tell you about their life, loves, the things that they might regret; to see a vulnerability that we don’t often show…
My natural inclination is to go in-depth when it comes to conversation. For me, that’s how I enjoy human interaction, but I know it’s scary for some people. I guess I’m interested in finding out the facets that make someone who they are. One of the biggest down-sides to this is that I’m terrible at small talk. In fact, it makes me retreat inside myself and I become ridiculously, painfully shy. Watching Master Sly playing, I can’t help but wonder if he’ll be a happy, confident and carefree extrovert, although he’s showing signs of being extremely sensitive to his surroundings.
I like to wear dresses and skirts, but sometimes I just feel like looking like a boy. I wore a salmon coloured Parrot print shirt that I bought from Elli’s Cabinet a couple of years ago. It’s a Korean brand that sell a small selection of good quality cotton tops, dresses and T’s. Nobody Jeans in Navy bought from Good as Gold a couple of years ago, a World Neon belt (they always have a cool selection of these every season), Orange envelope bag, Pink sunglasses, and my new Necklace which arrived the same morning we went out, and it just happened to colour co-ordinate with my shirt.
