Every year I find myself saying the same thing: “I can’t believe it’s Christmas already!” Seriously, where has the year gone? All I know is that I find myself reflecting on what has been, and might may lie ahead.
As a kid, I always wished for a White Christmas, where we could toast marshmallows over a fire (not the same over a log burner!~), and spend the day making snowmen/ snow-women. I happen to hate the cold, so luckily for me I was born in the Southern Hemisphere where we have to endure Christmas in summer. Growing up in Christchurch, we’d stay indoors to escape the dry Canterbury Nor’westers. I miss that kind of weather (even though it gives me bad migraines). Apparently some people go stir-crazy in Nor’westers too. I remember reading once how it drove a man to wield an axe through someone’s door! Axe-wielding maniacs aside, this year we’ll be traveling down South for Christmas, so it’ll be our first ever road trip as a family. I can’t believe I’ve lived in New Zealand my whole life and I’ve never even crossed the Cook Strait on the ferry! I’m looking forward to it…but I do get sea sick! Yikes!

So, I find myself still buying winter clothes even though it’s summer and getting hotter by the day. It’s this crazy Wellington weather; warm one day–cold the next! I guess I also couldn’t go past this cobalt blue peplum top, and when winter comes I’ll be whipping it out for sure.
