Maximilian Guy McNair MacEwan has recently returned to Aotearoa after an extended stint abroad, traveling through Europe, Australia and a host of amazing places in between. He has worked in the film industry for many years, and currently coordinates a team of artists at Weta Digital who create CG environments for films such as The Hobbit and Planet of the Apes. Previously based in London, he struggled to find a balance between photography and full-time work in Visual Effects. Of course that has changed since his return to New Zealand.
“Photography is something that has encroached further and further into my daily life and I can feel it becoming the biggest aspiration in my life – that’s something I’m very happy about.”
His collection of images were shot during his travels through Europe (Scotland and Wales) and NZ: “I found these places spectacular and incredibly challenging to try to capture,” he says.
