“My feelings are too loud for words and too shy for the world.”
Dejan Stojanovic

Considering how shy and introverted I can be, sometimes I’m surprised that I actually talk to people for a living.

Well, I don’t know if it was the heat, but today I felt confounded by my mouth’s inability to move in conjunction with my tongue. Unable to form words or barely start and finish coherent sentences, it was one of those days where my lips were literally sealed. SHUT. But luckily for me that was okay, because I had the chance to lie down and play dead for a few minutes. More on that later…

With this unrelenting sunshine and mid-twenties heat, my summer wardrobe is actually getting a decent outing. Yes, it’s hard not to relish the mornings of endless blue sky…no need for a jumper. Hooray!

Top of my list for lightning speed dressing is always just that…a dress. It’s a no-brainer. Just the one item to throw on and whammo, you’re done! As a shorty— A-line or drop-waist dresses are my go-to. This dress in particular, with its higher cut shoulders, petal layered skirt, weightier fabric and slight sheen provides just enough polish to make me feel ready for the day ahead. With well-hidden, generously sized pockets that would have made my granny proud, it is the one thing I’ll wear when I’m happy to let the stripes do all the talking.

If you’re on the hunt for stripey goodness, you can pick up the dress or top (from the same range) here.

Sonia, that dress is so beautiful on you! I love the stripe / petal cut combination, you’re like a walking optical illusion.

And I can relate to your story, as I am also pretty shy and introverted (and short, haha). Those days when my brain refuses to form coherent sentences can be quite frustrating. Thankfully, it doesn’t happen too often!

      Hey Raiisa,

I just saw your comment (which somehow eluded me). I’m pleased that I’m not alone on the shy (and sometimes awkward front). I think for me, I can get too caught up in my head sometimes (but also if I spend too much time alone), it’s almost like I forget how to have a conversation! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
