If there was ever a transeasonal item that has seen me happily transition from spring to summer—and now, autumn—then it would have to be this denim lab coat. It has been the ultimate throw-on over summer dresses, for doubling up on denim with jeans, and it let’s just say, I thrashed this baby during the work-day week over the warmer months. The straight, longer cut has been a lot more versatile than a denim jacket, simply because it fits over the top of lots of layers, and the sleeves are wide enough not to crush freshly pressed shirts or wider shaped sleeves (which tend to bunch up beneath some of my other coats and jackets).
The raw hem also adds an updated feel to a breezy denim colour that may otherwise have been a staple of your Dad’s wardrobe during the 80’s and 90’s. This coat has been hands-down the perfect go-anywhere coat that feels neither over, nor under-dressed.
