Is it a bird, is it a plane? No…it’s a new bag and it’s got my name on it!
I don’t own a lot of bags—I’m generally more of a shoe girl—but I’ve been on the hunt for a small bag that’s still big enough to carry…I don’t know, a small bunch of bananas?
I found this gem from UK label, House of Holland and I love the clothing brand for its colourful quirky prints and designs—if you’re after something a bit different, I definitely recommend taking a look!
Having had no luck with one of these Deadly Ponies bags; I visited Superette in Wellington with my heart set on a yellow version only to discover the colour was more mustard than the picture conveyed (I hate it when that happens!).
If you’re on the hunt for new accessories whether it be a bag, shoes, scarf etc. it’s important to keep in mind that the item should complement other items in your wardrobe, and be sure to choose colours that suit your skin tone.
The moment I tried on the mustard bag my face looked completely sallow. It was bad news. I find that wearing a colour that doesn’t suit me inadvertently affects my mood, because I’ll be walking around essentially looking and feeling ‘off colour.’
I’m not one to get too hung up on what wasn’t meant to be, so it was a swift, c’est la vie, and a dive back into the water to find another fish in the sea.
I can ordinarily feel confounded by too much choice—I’m not the most decisive person—and I found it difficult to settle on a bag in a single block colour. This leather bag is absolutely perfect with its multi-colour print, and metallic chain strap.
All I can say, is that I’m more than happy for this bag to do all the talking!
Although my ‘lunchbox’ hasn’t ventured outside of its dust cover yet, I can’t wait to pull it out this Spring/ Summer. It’ll hold my healthy snacks (I’m always carrying a random piece of fruit around with me) and it will be a great addition to a simple T-shirt and jeans, but also feels more dressy than what has become my ultimate day bag.
