This week I experienced the kind of shock akin to being hit by an oncoming car.
It came out of nowhere and left me in disbelief, crushing all of my dreams that good things happen to good people, and that those same good things should last forever.
Change is testing and can bring about a desire to succeed and overcome obstacles, but only after the initial teary-eyed moments of feeling disengaged, uninspired and utterly numb.
Add to that, the confusion and lack of clarity during a period of recovery when you survive said accident and you’re confounded by the reality of a new body that might not work in the same way that it used to.
While my own little universe has begun to fray just a little, I know that the world won’t end. There is no denying change. The only way to deal with it is to fall gracefully into its slipstream without any attempts to resist.
