Last week, saw the highly anticipated launch of David Jones department store in Wellington, and tonight, New Zealand luxury leather accessories label, Deadly Ponies, launches its new store on Ghuznee Street, situated in the creative quarter alongside leading New Zealand clothing labels, Twenty Seven Names, and Harman Grubiša.
I was gutted that I couldn’t attend the launch tonight (oh, the life of a parent!), but I’ll have an interview with designer, Liam Bowden, on the blog next week.
Deadly Ponies currently have two stores in Auckland, and one in Christchurch. Renowned interior designer Katie Lockhart has helped to bring Liam’s vision to life, and each store has a similar theme based on Brancusi-inspired installations.
The store opens at 10am tomorrow (Saturday) and among the new products is an exclusive bag design, Mr Fur Stitcher, which has been produced especially for the Wellington location. What can I say, the guy knows how to make us feel special!
Deadly Ponies is located at 28 Ghuznee Street
