There are times when I can’t stop talking. When I have to say what I think in this moment, this minute, before my thoughts race away. And they do….
So I watch as you stare and wait, while my lips lag behind my thoughts. I’m not sure if you can see it on my face, but I’m nervous and tongue-tied, and then…Oops!
That wasn’t what I meant to say.
Can I rewind? Maybe even pause? I need to freeze-frame the exact point in time before I open my mouth and let the words spill out — it was two thoughts before and half a thought after that, to be exact.
About now I want to erase, delete, alter the moment that has passed, but I can’t.
So I gather my thoughts one by one, and keep them locked away for good.
Style File: I picked up this Bernhard Willhelm pleated dress/ top from The Shelter in Ponsonby when I was in Auckland after NZFW. It’s great for layering but I can’t wait to wear it in summer as a dress. love the quirky label, and being a fan of pleats there was no option not to buy it. It also has as blue piece of fabric that hangs from the back, which adds to the interesting drape. I love the zip patch on the front – it’s completely and utterly useless…and something to remind me to ‘zip it.’
